The machining methods of molds are generally divided into the following three types:
General machining is our common turning. In the turning of molds, the main surface processing includes: internal and external rotating surface, spiral surface, end face, drilling, knurling, etc; These are relatively common processing, of course, there are some special turning processing, such as: the processing of split cavity, spherical processing, multi cavity mold processing, etc.
(2) Copying machining of molds
The profiling processing of the mold is based on the profiling made in advance. During processing, the contact exerts a certain pressure on the profiling surface and moves along its surface. Through the profiling mechanism, the cutter makes synchronous profiling action, so as to process the same profile as the profiling on the mold parts. The characteristics of this kind of machining are as follows: 1. The machining efficiency is high, and the rough machining is 40-50 times that of EDM; 2. The accuracy is low, the dimensional accuracy is 0.05mm, ra3.2-6.3; 3. Unable to process internal clearance angle and deep narrow groove; 4. It is generally used for rough machining, with a certain machining allowance reserved for power supply spark for finish machining.
(3) Precision machining of molds
The precision machining of molds needs to pay attention to many details, mainly in the following aspects: 1 The structure design is carried out on the basis of considering the die processing method to make the structure adapt to the processing method; 2. high precision and high rigidity machine tools; 3. tool material; 4. a good environment centered on temperature control.
